Old or New Termite Activity

While inspecting a customer’s garage, I found a significant amount of termite droppings. Since the home had been fumigated less than five years prior, I thought the droppings might have occurred before the fumigation and had already been dealt with. But then I spotted a kickout hole—the place where termites push their droppings out. That confirmed it was new activity. Later, when I checked the attic, I saw that old droppings had been carefully masked with powder. If the other termite company had taken the time to mask those droppings, they would have also cleaned up the ones in the garage. That told me the garage activity was new and needed to be treated.
